As usual, there have been tons of rumors surrounding the upcoming iPhone 8. One of the most talked about feature is wireless charging. The hype has been growing with Apple recently joining the wireless power consortium and submitting a patent with wireless charging. Another iPhone 8 leak has popped up which could confirm the validity of wireless charging in the upcoming smartphone.
iPhone 8 Leak Wireless Charging Coil
The image above was posted on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, which is supposedly a part for the iPhone 8. The image looks a lot like a Qi wireless charging receiver or transmitter.
AppleInsider, a news and rumor website about all things Apple, noticed that the pins and spacing for ground connectors are parts of the Lightning port. Although they did guess that the board measures 2.5 inches by 4 inches, which is quite large for a smartphone. It isn’t impossible to fit the iPhone 8 assembly, but it will take up a lot of space if it does. On the other hand, this could fit a wireless charging pad for the iPhone 8 without a problem.
Despite being just another iPhone 8 leak, this brings in heavy evidence that wireless charging will be the next big thing. With wireless charging invading Apple devices, widespread use will start and we might see this as the standard way of charging in a few years.
