Panasonic Japan announces world’s first Qi Wireless video camera

We’ve just recently learnt that on January 10th, Panasonic Japan announced the world’s first Qi Wireless charging video camera.

All models will be released sequentially, only release dates in Japan have been provided:

The HC-V720M (64GB of memory) with Qi wireless battery included will be released on May 25thProvided specs are:

  • 1/2.33″ High Sensitivity MOS Sensor with 17.5 Megapixels [16:9]
  • In high resolution, 20.4-megapixel still pictures
  • 21x Optical zoom
  • Focal length 2.82 – 59.2 mm
  • Equipped with Wi-Fi
  • The V720 Series is also equipped with Level Shot Function, in addition to the 5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S. +. Level Shot Function automatically detects and corrects the tilting of captured images
  • The Crystal Engine Pro instantly processes the huge amount of data that goes into Full-HD images, and further enhances Full-HD quality. It produces smooth, high-resolution zoom shots even when the range exceeds the limit for optical zooming. Crystal Engine Pro clearly delineates even the tiniest details of your subject

The HC-V520M (32GB) will be released on May 20th, Qi battery sold separately. Specs:

  • 1/5.8″ BSI MOS Sensor
  • 2.51 megapixels
  • 50x Optical zoom
  • Focal length 2.06 – 103 mm
  • Equipped with Wi-Fi
  • Level Shot Function
  • Crystal Engine Pro
  • 10 Megapixel still picture recording

The HC-V210M (32 GB) to be released on May 15th, Qi battery sold separately. Specs:

  • 1/5.8″ BSI MOS Sensor
  • 2.51 megapixels
  • 38x Optical zoom
  • Focal length 2.35 – 89.3 mm
  • 10 Megapixel still picture recording

When they will be released in the western world is yet to be announced.
