After a bumpy start, wireless charging is starting to pick up a little bit of steam. We’ve seen the feature included on some high-profile smartphones, a far cry from its early days when you had to hunt-down a custom battery cover and install it yourself. The Qi standard is at the forefront of the movement, and we swung by the company’s CES booth to learn what they’ve been up to.
Seeing all these Qi-supported devices at once really drove home the point that wireless charging is only going to pick up the pace and become even more prevalent in 2013. Besides phones, Qi had a ton of chargers on hand, including everything from desktop docks to the sort of car-based systems we’ve been talking about lately.
